Gold Book of Transportation Brokers

The Gold Book of Transportation Brokers is a listing of over 1,000 brokers who pay their freight bills in 30 days or less. They are listed by State and by alphabetical listing with name, address, phone, number of employees and motor carrier number.

To qualify for Gold Book status a broker must meet stringent requirements:

* They must have a Surety bond or trust

* They must have been in business at
    least three years

* They must have proper federal
   operating authority

* They must pay their freight bills in 30
   days or less with no single reference
   over 45 days

The Gold Book is published bi-monthly in a pocketbook edition, giving truckers the ability to fill problem lanes and locate backhaul freight with companies with strong payment histories. It is also available online and this version is updated on a daily basis.

Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA)

We are very pleased to announce that Priefert Logistics has been accepted into the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA).

The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) is the professional organization of the $162 billion third-party logistics industry. TIA is the only organization exclusively representing transportation intermediaries of all disciplines doing business in domestic and international commerce. TIA is the voice of transportation intermediaries to shippers, carriers, government officials and international organizations. TIA is the United States member of the International Federation of Freight Forwarder Associations (FIATA).

TIA conducts an annual convention and trade show; an annual marketing conference with leading shippers and carriers; and provides education, research and services to help members succeed. TIA is the certification body for the Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) program.

TIA members include brokers, forwarders, intermodal marketing companies, Non Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC) and international forwarders, airfreight forwarders and freight audit/payment companies.

As a condition of membership, all Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) members are required to sign a strict, national Code of Professionalism. The Code of Professionalism has been adopted by the TIA to promote and maintain high standards of professional service and ethical business conduct among its members. Prospective members go through a strict review process.
